Security forces eliminated two terrorists affiliated with Fitna al-Khwarij during an intelligence-based operation in the Kulachi area of Dera Ismail Khan, following credible information about the presence of armed terrorists in the locality.
According to preliminary reports, security personnel launched the operation after receiving actionable intelligence regarding the movement of terrorists believed to be planning attacks against security forces and civilians in the region. As troops moved to surround the suspected location, the terrorists opened fire, triggering an intense exchange of gunfire.
During the firefight, two terrorists were eliminated. No official details regarding the identities of the eliminated terrorists have been released so far.
Following the encounter, security forces cordoned off the surrounding area and launched a comprehensive search and clearance operation to ensure that no remaining terrorists managed to escape. The operation is continuing, with additional troops deployed to comb nearby fields, compounds, and possible escape routes.
Weapons, ammunition, and other items of operational significance are expected to be recovered during the clearance phase, while forensic and intelligence teams are examining the site to gather evidence that could help identify the terrorists’ network, facilitators, and future plans.
The latest operation comes as security forces continue to intensify intelligence-based operations across southern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, particularly in Dera Ismail Khan and adjoining districts, where Fitna al-Khwarij has repeatedly attempted to regroup and launch attacks on security personnel, law enforcement agencies, and civilians.
The operation also follows a series of successful counterterrorism actions across the province in recent weeks, reflecting sustained efforts to dismantle terrorist infrastructure, disrupt infiltration routes, and deny extremists the ability to establish safe havens. Security officials have reiterated that such operations will continue until every terrorist network operating in the region is neutralized and the writ of the state is fully enforced.
