On 11 November, during a major and successful operation in the Sardi Khel area of Bannu, security forces and police killed three terrorists. The militants were sitting in the courtyard of a facilitator’s house when the raid, based on verified intelligence, was launched. Video footage from the scene clearly shows the presence of armed men and weapons lying openly at the targeted location.
Ibrahim Khan, a Jamaat-e-Islami leader from Bannu, falsely described the terrorists as innocent civilians and claimed that firing came from a nearby checkpost. However, security sources have confirmed that no such firing took place.
Meanwhile, PTM and other anti-state elements have been spreading baseless propaganda suggesting that the killed individuals were civilians. Credible sources have dismissed these claims as entirely unfounded, affirming that the operation was precise and intelligence-driven.
According to official accounts, at least three terrorists were killed in the swift and effective action, and there has been no confirmation of any child or civilian casualties.
Context and implications
The operation underscores the unwavering resolve of Pakistan’s security forces to eliminate terrorist threats and prevent militant networks from regrouping in the region. It also highlights a growing pattern of disinformation campaigns by political and fringe elements seeking to undermine counterterrorism operations.
Security officials reaffirmed that the forces remain fully committed to defeating terrorism and protecting the nation from its enemies’ malicious designs.
