Security forces successfully repelled an armed terrorist attack targeting the Rading Trade Crossing in Mand, Balochistan, after a group of approximately 10–13 terrorists opened fire on the trade facility using small arms and under-barrel grenade launchers (UBGLs).
The attack was met with an immediate and effective response from the security forces’ Quick Reaction Force (QRF), which swiftly engaged the attackers and returned fire, forcing the terrorists to abandon their assault and flee the area.
The timely intervention by the QRF prevented the attackers from causing major damage to the trade infrastructure and commercial assets located at the crossing. Despite the intensity of the attack, no major damage was reported to the trade terminal, LPG trucks or other material present at the site. The rapid response demonstrated the operational readiness of security personnel deployed to protect vital trade infrastructure and commercial activity in the area.
During the exchange of fire, one Customs official sustained injuries. The injured official was immediately evacuated to a hospital for medical treatment. Authorities continue to monitor his condition, while the incident has prompted heightened security measures around the trade crossing and adjoining areas.
The QRF’s effective engagement compelled the attacking terrorists to retreat from the area. According to the available information, heavy losses were inflicted on the fleeing terrorists during the engagement. The attackers’ decision to withdraw following the security forces’ response prevented the assault from escalating into a prolonged attack on the trade facility.
The Rading trade crossing is an important point of commercial activity in Mand, and the attempted attack posed a direct threat not only to security personnel but also to trade operations, commercial vehicles and civilian assets present at the site. The successful defence of the crossing ensured that the trade terminal, LPG consignments and other material remained largely secure, with no major damage reported. Security forces remain deployed in the area and are maintaining heightened vigilance to prevent any further attempt by terrorist elements to target the crossing or disrupt legitimate commercial activity.
Following the attack, security forces have intensified surveillance and security measures around the trade crossing and its surrounding areas.
