In the Nasr Khel area of Lakki Marwat, terrorists belonging to the proscribed group Fitna al-Khawarij carried out two brutal attacks, killing Aftab Khan, an accountant with the Education Department, and Rafiullah, a security personnel preparing for his wedding.
Aftab Khan was attacked while returning home in a rickshaw from Naurang Bazaar. The terrorists opened fire, killing him instantly and injuring a young boy who was with him.
Shortly after, terrorists targeted the house of security personnel Rafiullah, who was on leave and preparing for his wedding. The attackers stormed his home and martyred him on the spot.
These twin attacks highlight the continued hostility of Fitna al-Khawarij toward those serving the community and the ongoing threat to peace in the region.
This is not the first time this terror group has targeted individuals linked to education and security in the area. The group’s attacks on schools and personnel have increased in recent months, with previous incidents reported in Bannu, Tank, Lakki Marwat, and other parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Security forces are actively conducting operations to counter the threat, but the local community remains deeply affected by the violence.
