Syrian Security Forces Eliminate Three ISIS Militants, Capture Four in Aleppo Operation

Syrian government security forces conducted a successful counter terrorism operation in Aleppo, neutralising three ISIS militants and apprehending four others from a suspected insurgent cell. According to an official statement from the Ministry of Interior, the targeted raid on an ISIS hideout also led to the seizure of a substantial cache of weapons, explosive devices, and a suicide vest. The ministry stated that the cell was actively involved in sabotage activities and was plotting further attacks aimed at destabilizing security in the region.

The ministry described the operation as part of a broader campaign by Syrian authorities to dismantle remnants of ISIS operating within urban centres and rural enclaves. “This cell posed an imminent threat to public safety and national stability. The successful raid has thwarted potential attacks and disrupted ISIS’s operational capabilities in the area,” the statement read.

The operation comes in the wake of a renewed insurgency campaign launched by ISIS following the collapse of the Bashar al-Assad regime in December last year. Despite initial gains by the extremist group, the newly formed Syrian government has intensified its counter terrorism efforts, resulting in the elimination or arrest of numerous militants across key provinces.

Authorities reaffirmed their commitment to rooting out terrorism in all its forms and called on the public to remain vigilant and cooperate with security agencies by reporting suspicious activities.
