Security Forces Foil Cross-Border Infiltration Attempt in Kurram Sector

Security forces successfully thwarted an attempted cross-border infiltration in the Kurram sector along the Pakistan–Afghanistan border, following a coordinated response to hostile activities originating from across the frontier.

According to official sources, militants affiliated with Tehrik-e-Taliban Afghanistan (TTA) were observed facilitating the movement of Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) fighters into Pakistani territory. The infiltration attempt was reportedly supported by deliberate cross-border firing initiated to provide cover for the advancing militants.

Security forces, maintaining heightened vigilance along the sensitive border region, detected the movement in real time and responded swiftly. A precise and measured counteraction was carried out, targeting the facilitators positioned across the border. As a result, the hostile attempt was effectively neutralized before any breach of Pakistani territory could occur.

Officials emphasized that the response was conducted in line with established rules of engagement and with a focus on safeguarding national sovereignty and territorial integrity. The forces reaffirmed their readiness to counter any threats posed by militant elements attempting to exploit the border region.

Authorities further underscored the importance of sustained border vigilance and intelligence coordination to prevent such incidents. They reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to peace and stability in the region while warning that any aggression or facilitation of militant activity would be met with firm and proportionate action.

No casualties or damage on the Pakistani side have been reported at this stage. Monitoring and clearance operations in the area are ongoing to ensure complete security of the sector.
