Security Forces Eliminate Seven Indian-Sponsored Terrorists in Balochistan’s Sherani District; ISPR

Pakistan’s security forces killed seven Indian-sponsored terrorists of the outlawed militant faction Fitna al-Khawarij during a major intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Sherani district of Balochistan. According to the military’s media wing, the operation was launched on October 1 following credible intelligence about the presence of militants in the area. A fierce exchange of fire ensued, during which seven terrorists were eliminated.

ISPR said the slain militants were directly linked to Indian sponsorship and were actively involved in terrorist activities aimed at destabilizing the region. A substantial cache of weapons, ammunition, and explosives was seized from their possession. Security forces have since launched a sanitization operation in the surrounding areas to ensure that no further threats remain.

The ISPR noted that while security sources had earlier reported on October 1 that eight terrorists were killed during an IBO in Sherani, it remains unclear whether Thursday’s announcement relates to the same group of militants.

This development follows back-to-back counterterrorism successes earlier in the week, when security forces killed 13 terrorists belonging to Fitna al-Khawarij and Fitna al-Hindustan in separate operations in Quetta and Kech districts, and apprehended four militants during a raid in Khuzdar.

Security officials emphasized that these operations demonstrate Pakistan’s resolve to dismantle terrorist networks, neutralize foreign-sponsored militants, and safeguard the country’s internal stability and regional security.
