Security forces, successfully eliminated four Khawarij affiliated with Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), referred to as Fitna al-Khawarij, during a targeted security operation in the Thal area.
According to security officials, the Khawarij were attempting to establish a snap check post along the Dallan–Chapri Road when they were intercepted by security forces. The timely action by the forces prevented the Khawarij from establishing the illegal checkpoint and disrupted their attempt to create a security threat in the area.
An intense exchange of fire ensued between the security forces and the Khawarij. During the engagement, four Khawarij were eliminated. The bodies of two eliminated Khawarij were recovered, while the remaining two were reportedly taken away by their fleeing accomplices.
Following the engagement, the remaining Khawarij fled towards the border area. Security forces immediately launched a comprehensive search and clearance operation across the surrounding area to ensure that no hostile element remained in the vicinity.
The area has subsequently been cleared and thoroughly sanitized by the security forces. Necessary search and clearance measures were undertaken to ensure the complete elimination of any residual threat and to safeguard the local population and vital routes.
