Commander of the Royal Saudi Naval Forces, Vice Admiral Abdulrahman Al-Ghuraibi, undertook a high-level visit to Naval Headquarters in Rawalpindi, where he held a strategic meeting with Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf to reinforce bilateral maritime cooperation and regional security collaboration.
On his arrival, Vice Admiral Al-Ghuraibi was accorded a ceremonial Guard of Honour by a contingent of the Pakistan Navy, symbolising the historic brotherhood and defence partnership between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
The two naval chiefs engaged in comprehensive discussions covering a wide range of subjects, including mutual defence interests, evolving regional maritime security dynamics, and opportunities for enhanced bilateral collaboration in the naval domain. Admiral Naveed Ashraf briefed the visiting dignitary on the Pakistan Navy’s robust contributions to regional maritime stability, particularly through its Regional Maritime Security Patrols (RMSP), aimed at safeguarding vital sea lanes and countering emerging threats in the Indian Ocean Region.
Vice Admiral Al-Ghuraibi lauded the Pakistan Navy’s unwavering commitment to maritime peace and security, and expressed deep appreciation for the world-class training provided to Saudi naval cadets at the Pakistan Naval Academy. He reaffirmed the Saudi Navy’s confidence in Pakistan’s professional naval capabilities and expressed strong interest in expanding joint initiatives and interoperability.
Both sides reiterated their shared resolve to elevate Pakistan-Saudi naval ties to new heights, with a renewed focus on capacity-building, joint training, operational coordination, and defence-industrial cooperation.
The visit of Vice Admiral Al-Ghuraibi is seen as a significant milestone in consolidating strategic maritime ties between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. It not only reaffirms the enduring defence partnership but also opens new avenues for coordinated efforts in ensuring regional maritime security and operational synergy between the two brotherly armed forces.
