A police constable was martyred and another sustained injuries when Khawarij terrorists opened fire on a police patrol near Shinki Dam in the Sabir Abad area of Karak late at night, according to police officials.
The incident took place while the Station House Officer (SHO), accompanied by a contingent of police personnel, was conducting routine patrolling and security duties in the vicinity of Shinki Dam. According to police, the personnel came under sudden and indiscriminate fire from armed Khawarij elements operating in the area.
During the attack, Constable Zafran sustained critical injuries and embraced martyrdom while performing his duty. His fellow police officer, Constable Muhammad Imtiaz, also sustained injuries in the firing and was promptly shifted to KDA Hospital for medical treatment.
Martyr Constable Zafran belonged to Mansuri Kalla village of Tehsil Takht-e-Nasrati, District Karak. He rendered the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty while serving to protect the people and maintain peace and security in the area.
Immediately following the attack, police authorities intensified security measures in the vicinity and launched search and surveillance operations to track down the Khawarij elements responsible for the assault. Additional police personnel have been deployed, and heightened vigilance is being maintained across the surrounding areas.
The police force remains resolute in its commitment to countering the threat posed by Khawarij elements and ensuring the safety and security of citizens. Despite the risks and challenges confronting law-enforcement personnel, the police continue to perform their duties with courage, professionalism and unwavering determination.
