A joint operation by security forces and the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) in Peshawar neutralized five terrorists and led to the recovery of a cache of weapons, explosives and ammunition.
The operation was conducted last night near Akhun Baba graveyard on Zarkai Road, where Pakistan Army personnel and the CTD acted jointly against the terrorist presence.
The five neutralized terrorists were identified as Riyaz alias Khuzayfa, Zakir alias Adnan, Awais, Muneeb alias Lewaney and Ibn Ameen alias Mohammadi.
Security personnel recovered an RPG-7 launcher, one grenade, two improvised explosive devices (IEDs), two submachine guns (SMGs), two pistols and a large quantity of cartridges from their possession.
The recovery of explosive devices and weapons highlights the potential threat posed by the group. The operation reflects continued coordination between security forces and the CTD to disrupt terrorist networks and prevent attacks in Peshawar.
