Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has expressed gratitude to Donald Trump for his decision to temporarily halt the US initiative “Project Freedom,” aimed at facilitating maritime passage through the Strait of Hormuz.

In a statement shared on social media, the prime minister said President Trump demonstrated bold leadership by announcing the suspension of the project at a critical time.

He noted that the US decision, taken in response to requests from Pakistan and other brotherly countries, particularly Saudi Arabia and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, would contribute to promoting peace, stability, and reconciliation in the region.

The prime minister reaffirmed that Pakistan remains committed to supporting all efforts aimed at resolving conflicts through restraint, dialogue, and diplomacy.

He expressed hope that the current development would pave the way for a lasting agreement, ensuring sustainable peace and stability in the region and beyond.
