Federal Minister for Defence Khawaja Muhammad Asif has issued a strong warning to Kabul, revealing that India is backing the Afghan regime and using Afghan territory for hostile activities against Pakistan. In an interview with an Arab news outlet, the Defence Minister said that India’s conspiracies against Pakistan have been fully exposed, disclosing that New Delhi maintains deep ties with elements of the Afghan Taliban, who are acting as India’s proxy in waging a low-intensity war against Pakistan.
Khawaja Asif revealed that armed clashes between Pakistan and Afghan forces coincided with the visit of an Afghan minister to India incidents in which several Pakistani soldiers embraced martyrdom while defending the nation’s borders. He reaffirmed that Pakistan has responded decisively to Afghan provocations and will continue to deliver a robust and proportionate response to any future acts of aggression.“Pakistan has always sought peace and stability in the region,” said Defence Minister Khawaja Asif. “But if Kabul chooses confrontation or allows its soil to be used against Pakistan, we possess the full capability to respond effectively.”
Commenting on recent tensions with India, Khawaja Asif stated that Pakistan inflicted a heavy defeat on Indian forces in a recent confrontation, downing seven Indian aircraft a fact that, he noted, was acknowledged multiple times by U.S. President Donald Trump.
He emphasized that Pakistan’s defense forces remain fully alert and prepared to counter any threat, whether from across the eastern or western borders. The Defence Minister reiterated that Pakistan’s preference is peace, not confrontation, but warned that no compromise will be made on national security or sovereignty. He called on regional actors to act responsibly and refrain from actions that could destabilize peace in South Asia.
