Pakistan Army Mourns Loss of Brave Personnel Following Mi-17 Helicopter Crash Near Muzaffarabad: ISPR

A Pakistan Army Aviation Mi-17 helicopter met with a tragic accident near Muzaffarabad today during take-off as a result of a technical malfunction.

The helicopter crashed shortly after initiating flight operations, leading to the martyrdom (Shahadat) of all personnel on board. Regrettably, there were no survivors.

Immediately after receiving information about the incident, rescue and recovery teams were dispatched to the crash site. The teams swiftly reached the area and commenced rescue, recovery, and site-securing operations in accordance with established procedures.

A comprehensive Board of Inquiry has been ordered to investigate the circumstances surrounding the accident and determine the exact technical cause that led to the crash. All available evidence and technical data will be thoroughly examined to ascertain the facts and prevent such incidents in the future.

The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), the Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee/Chief of Defence Staff (CDF), along with officers, soldiers, and all ranks of the Pakistan Army, have expressed profound grief and sorrow over the tragic loss of these brave personnel who laid down their lives in the line of duty.

The Pakistan Army pays tribute to the unwavering dedication, professionalism, and sacrifice of the martyrs, whose services to the nation will be remembered with the highest respect and honour. Their commitment to duty and devotion to Pakistan stand as a lasting example for future generations.

Heartfelt condolences and sympathies are extended to the bereaved families during this difficult time. The entire nation stands in solidarity with the families of the martyrs and prays for strength, patience, and fortitude for them to bear this irreparable loss.
