Ongoing Repatriation of Afghan Nationals Continues Across Pakistan

The repatriation of Afghan nationals residing in Pakistan continues in a coordinated, orderly, and lawful manner across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, other provinces, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, and the Federal Capital Islamabad.

As part of the ongoing process, 2,847 Afghan nationals were repatriated to Afghanistan on the previous day via the Torkham Border. The repatriation was carried out in accordance with established procedures, ensuring dignity, safety, and facilitation at all stages of departure.

The individuals repatriated included: 1,550 Proof of Registration (PoR) card holders, 465 Afghan Citizen Card (ACC) holders, and 832 undocumented Afghan nationals residing illegally in Pakistan.

With this latest phase, the total number of Afghan nationals repatriated so far has reached 1,006,831.

The cumulative breakdown of repatriated individuals is as follows: 241,357 PoR card holders, 73,906 ACC card holders, and 691,568 undocumented Afghan nationals.

The Government of Pakistan remains committed to implementing its repatriation policy in a humane, transparent, and responsible manner, in line with national laws and international obligations. Relevant departments and law enforcement agencies continue to work in close coordination to facilitate the smooth execution of the process, including registration, transportation, and border management.

The Department of Home and Tribal Affairs, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, reiterates that the repatriation process is being conducted with full respect for human dignity, while ensuring compliance with Pakistan’s legal and regulatory framework. Authorities remain vigilant to ensure that the process remains peaceful, organized, and efficient.
