A powerful blast, purportedly by Khwarij, rocked the under-construction Rescue 1122 station in Wazirabad, Tank, injuring seven labourers—most of them from Paharpur Tehsil, Dera Ismail Khan.
According to DPO Tank, the explosion was caused by rocket fired by two suspected Khwarij, as declared by the state, destroying a part of the building completely. A loud explosion occurred, sending shock-waves through the area and spreading panic among locals. According to DPO, Security forces and police have cordoned off the area and started a search operation to apprehend the culprits.
The injured workers were rushed to DHQ Hospital for treatment. Deputy Commissioner Tank, Tanveer Khan Khattak, arrived at the hospital immediately to oversee medical aid and emergency response. According to DHQ Hospital sources Raza Khan, Rasheed, Abu Bakar, Rafique, Najaf, Muhammad Mehboob, and Kifayat were among the injured, and were rushed to the hospital.
The attack has once again raised serious concerns about militant activity targeting public infrastructure and emergency services in the region.
