Khawarij Drone Attack Targets Chitrota Police Station in Tunsa Sharif

A cowardly attack carried out by Khawarij elements targeted the Chitrota Police Station in the Tunsa Sharif area of Punjab through the use of a quadcopter drone, according to preliminary security reports.

Officials confirmed that explosive material was dropped from the unmanned aerial vehicle onto the premises of the police station, causing structural damage to sections of the building. Despite the intensity of the blast, no casualties or injuries were reported among police personnel or civilians present in the area at the time of the incident.

Security agencies and local law enforcement authorities swiftly cordoned off the area following the attack and launched a comprehensive investigation to determine the nature of the explosives used, the flight route of the drone, and the network facilitating the operation.

Initial assessments suggest that the attack reflects an alarming shift in the operational tactics of Khawarij groups, particularly the use of commercially available drone technology to target security installations and spread fear among the public. Security experts believe such attacks are intended to challenge state institutions and disrupt peace in sensitive regions.

Senior police officials stated that the morale of the police force remains high and reaffirmed their unwavering commitment to maintaining law and order across the province. Authorities emphasized that such cowardly acts would not weaken the resolve of law enforcement agencies or hinder ongoing security and counterterrorism efforts.

Bomb disposal units, forensic specialists, and intelligence teams were immediately dispatched to the site to collect evidence and evaluate the extent of the damage caused by the explosion. Security monitoring and surveillance measures in adjoining areas have also been enhanced as a precautionary response.

Authorities have urged citizens to remain vigilant and cooperate with law enforcement agencies by promptly reporting any suspicious aerial activity or unusual movement in their localities. Additional security protocols are expected to be implemented at police stations and other sensitive government installations following the incident.

The attack comes amid growing concerns over the evolving methods being adopted by Khawarij networks, including the increasing use of modern technology in asymmetric attacks against security forces and state infrastructure.
