Kharan: Fitna al-Hindustan Targets Passenger Vehicle in IED Attack, Workers Injured

Terrorists belonging to Fitna al-Hindustan carried out an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) attack targeting a passenger vehicle on Lajay Road in Kharan district, Balochistan, injuring a worker and causing injuries to nine other labourers travelling in the vehicle.

According to the information available, the vehicle was carrying workers when it came under attack. The IED explosion targeted the passenger vehicle, resulting in casualties among the occupants and damaging the vehicle.

The attack specifically targeted a vehicle carrying 10 workers. One labourer sustained injuries in the explosion, while nine other workers also suffered injuries. The incident has once again raised serious concerns over the targeting of civilians and workers travelling on public roads. The use of an IED against a passenger vehicle demonstrates the indiscriminate nature of the attack and the risks posed to ordinary citizens by terrorist elements operating in the region.

The victims were reportedly civilians and workers with no role in any security activity.

Security forces responded promptly after receiving information about the attack and reached the site to assist the affected workers. Personnel provided immediate medical assistance to the injured and subsequently shifted them to a nearby health facility for further treatment.

The rapid response helped ensure that the injured workers received timely medical attention following the explosion. Security personnel also secured the area following the incident and initiated necessary measures to assess the site and determine the circumstances surrounding the IED attack.

The attack comes amid continued security operations against terrorist elements in Balochistan. Security officials described the targeting of civilians and workers as an indication of the pressure being faced by Fitna al-Hindustan following security forces’ operations against terrorist networks.

According to the security perspective, the targeting of ordinary citizens and labourers after setbacks against security forces reflects an attempt by terrorist elements to spread fear among the local population and disrupt normal movement and economic activity.

The attack also underscores the vulnerability of workers and passengers travelling along public routes and the continuing threat posed by terrorist groups seeking to create insecurity among local communities.
