Inspector General of Police (IGP) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Zulfiqar Hameed has confirmed that the suicide attacker involved in the attack on Kabal Police Station in Swat has been identified, while further investigations into the incident are underway.
Speaking to media representatives in Swat, the KP Police Chief stated that a Joint Investigation Team (JIT) will be constituted to conduct a comprehensive investigation into the Kabal Police Station blast and examine all aspects of the attack.
IGP Zulfiqar Hameed further announced that the police personnel who lost their lives in the attack will be provided with the martyrs’ package in recognition of their sacrifices and services in the line of duty.
The police chief stated that security concerns had already been anticipated, due to which enhanced security arrangements were put in place. He added that police personnel acted promptly and attempted to stop the suicide attacker, during which the explosion occurred.
Highlighting the capabilities and preparedness of the police force, the IGP said that law enforcement agencies possess modern weapons and equipment, while further improvements will continue to strengthen operational capacity.
He emphasized that terrorist elements continue attempts to reorganize themselves, but they do not remain confined to a single location. The police and security forces are actively pursuing these elements and will not allow them to regroup or restore their networks.
“Security forces are continuously tracking terrorist elements and taking measures to prevent their reorganization,” the IGP stated.
IGP Zulfiqar Hameed reiterated that the identification of the suicide bomber has been completed and that detailed investigations are continuing to uncover further details related to the attack, including possible facilitators and other links.
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police reaffirmed its commitment to protecting citizens, ensuring public safety, and taking decisive action against those involved in acts of violence and terrorism.
