Joint Security Operation in Bannu Eliminates 16 Khawarij, Including Two High-Value Commanders

In a major intelligence-based and coordinated counterterrorism operation, the Pakistan Armed Forces, Police, and Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) conducted a joint operation in the Miryan area of Bannu, resulting in the elimination of 16 Khawarij, including two high-value Khawarij commanders, according to security sources.

The operation was launched on the basis of credible intelligence regarding the presence of Khawarij elements in the area. Security forces engaged the hideouts with precision, triggering a heavy exchange of fire.

During the operation, two prominent Khawarij commanders identified as Zamri Noor and Afghan-origin commander Abdullah Saeed were neutralized. Officials stated that these individuals were actively involved in spreading fear and orchestrating subversive activities in the region.

Security sources further confirmed that multiple Khawarij hideouts were destroyed during the operation as part of a sustained effort to dismantle operational infrastructure and disrupt networks associated with militancy in the area.

Tragically, during the intense exchange of fire, two police personnel embraced martyrdom while performing their duties on the front line. The martyred officers have been identified as Constable Waheedullah Khan and Constable Noorullah Khan.

Their funeral prayers were held with full official honours at the Police Lines Bannu, where senior civil and military officials, local dignitaries, and a large number of citizens attended to pay tribute to their sacrifice.

Officials stated that the joint forces’ operation reflects the continued resolve of Pakistan’s security institutions to eliminate Khawarij elements in all their forms. They reiterated that intelligence-based and coordinated actions against Fitna al Khawarij are ongoing across the region.

Security agencies emphasized that such operations will continue with full intensity until the complete elimination of Khawarij networks operating in the area.

Authorities affirmed that the sacrifices of the martyred personnel will further strengthen the determination of law enforcement agencies and the armed forces to restore lasting peace and stability.

The statement concluded that the ongoing campaign against Fitna al Khawarij will persist “until the last Khawarij is neutralized.”
