Joint Forces Strike Terrorists in Bannu: Three Killed, Search Ongoing

Police and security forces carried out a joint counterterrorism operation against armed militants in the Akbar Ali Khan Kallay area of Isparka, Domail, aimed at eliminating threats to public safety and maintaining law and order in the region.

During the operation, three militants were neutralized, while several others sustained injuries and managed to flee the area. The operation was conducted following credible intelligence regarding the presence and movement of militants affiliated with anti-state armed groups.

Senior law enforcement and military officials were present on the ground to supervise and coordinate the operation, including Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Bannu Region, Mr. Sajjad Khan, District Police Officer (DPO) Bannu, Mr. Yasir Afridi, and Brigadier Umair Niazi of the 116 Brigade. Their presence ensured effective command, control, and coordination among participating forces.

Following the initial engagement, a search and clearance operation is currently underway in the surrounding areas to apprehend the fleeing militants and eliminate any remaining threats. Security forces have cordoned off the area, and strict monitoring is being maintained to prevent any escape or regrouping by hostile elements.

Speaking on the occasion, DIG Bannu Region Sajjad Khan reaffirmed the resolve of law enforcement agencies, stating that anti-state armed organizations will be brought to justice without exception, and that the maintenance of peace and security will be ensured at all costs. He emphasized that such operations will continue until all threats to public safety are neutralized.

The police and security forces reiterated their commitment to safeguarding the lives and property of citizens and urged the public to cooperate with authorities by promptly reporting any suspicious activity.
