Security forces, while carrying out an intelligence-based operation in Dera Ismail Khan District, eliminated 22 militants linked to the Indian proxy, Fitna al-Khawarij, or the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), reports the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) reported on Thursday.
According to the ISPR, troops engaged the militants at a reported location, resulting in the elimination of 22 Khawarij after an intense exchange of fire. The operation is part of a broader counter-terrorism drive under the vision “Azm-e-Istehkam,” approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan.
The ISPR stated that sanitization operations are ongoing to locate and neutralise any remaining Indian-sponsored Khawarij in the area. The agency reaffirmed that Pakistan’s security forces and law enforcement agencies remain committed to a relentless campaign to eradicate foreign-backed terrorism from the country.
