In a significant security operation across the capital, Islamabad police have detained 41 individuals, including four Afghan nationals, while seizing weapons, ammunition, and narcotics, authorities confirmed on Monday.
The operation, carried out in multiple areas of Islamabad with particular attention to Sangjani, aimed to disrupt criminal networks and maintain law and order in the federal capital. Police conducted searches on 177 individuals, 66 homes, 35 motorcycles, and 15 vehicles. Twelve motorcycles and four vehicles were seized due to improper documentation, pending further investigation.
Among the detainees, four Afghan nationals were taken into custody for questioning. Law enforcement officials recovered illegal firearms, ammunition, and narcotics during the operation, underscoring the ongoing threat posed by transnational criminal activity.
Islamabad Police Chief Kazim Naqvi stated that operations against criminal elements, including those with foreign links, will continue to ensure public safety. “Maintaining law and order is our top priority,” he said, emphasizing that security forces are committed to preventing illegal activities in the city.
This operation highlights Islamabad police’s proactive approach in tackling both local and cross-border criminal threats, reinforcing the commitment to protect citizens and uphold law and order.
