In two separate and brazen attacks, two police officers were killed while on leave from duty in different districts of the province. ASI Mumtaz, who was stationed at City Police Station in Tank, was returning home on leave when assailants forcibly removed him from his vehicle and opened fire. The attack highlights the continued threat faced by police officers even when off duty.
The bodies of the fallen officers have been transferred to local hospitals for postmortem examinations. Police officials have launched detailed investigations and are collecting evidence from the crime scenes to identify and apprehend the perpetrators.
