Deadly Terrorist Attacks Claim Lives of Two Police Personnel in Swat and Lakki Marwat

In two separate and brazen attacks, two police officers were killed while on leave from duty in different districts of the province. The incidents have raised serious concerns about the security of law enforcement personnel in the region. In the first incident, Police Constable Hamad Ali was shot near his residence in the Sangota area of Swat. Hamad Ali, who had come home on leave from his duty station in Timergara, was reportedly targeted in a premeditated attack. Authorities confirmed that he succumbed to his injuries on the spot.

In a separate attack in the Laki Marwat district, Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Mumtaz Ali was killed in the jurisdiction of Pizo Police Station. ASI Mumtaz, who was stationed at City Police Station in Tank, was returning home on leave when assailants forcibly removed him from his vehicle and opened fire. The attack highlights the continued threat faced by police officers even when off duty.

The bodies of the fallen officers have been transferred to local hospitals for postmortem examinations. Police officials have launched detailed investigations and are collecting evidence from the crime scenes to identify and apprehend the perpetrators.

Authorities have condemned the attacks in the strongest terms, calling them a direct assault on law enforcement personnel and the rule of law. Security forces have been placed on high alert in the affected districts to prevent any further incidents and to ensure the safety of the public and police officers.

These tragic killings underscore the persistent risks faced by those serving in law enforcement and the urgent need for enhanced security measures to protect officers both on and off duty.
