Security forces have killed a senior commander of the banned Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), the India-sponsored proxy also known as Fitna al-Hindustan, during an intelligence-based operation in Balochistan, officials confirmed on Monday.
According to security sources, the militant, identified as Kamran alias Kama Masli, was killed in an exchange of fire during a targeted raid conducted on credible intelligence. The operation took place in a mountainous area used by BLA militants for planning and executing attacks on security convoys, infrastructure, and local contractors.
Officials said the slain militant was involved in multiple acts of terrorism, including attacks on security personnel, extortion, and the abduction of civilians for ransom. He was considered one of the key field commanders responsible for coordinating militant activities across several districts of Balochistan, including Kech and Awaran.
Following the encounter, a clearance operation was launched to secure the surrounding area and recover weapons, communication devices, and other evidence. The recovered material, according to initial reports, includes maps and digital data that could provide leads about other BLA hideouts and facilitators operating in the province.
Security officials said the elimination of Kamran Masli marks a significant blow to the BLA’s network, which has been facing intensified pressure over the past year through a series of targeted operations. Several of the group’s commanders have been neutralized or captured in recent months, disrupting its capacity to stage coordinated attacks.
Authorities reaffirmed that intelligence-based operations will continue until all terrorist elements are eliminated from the province, reiterating the state’s resolve to ensure lasting peace and stability in Balochistan.
