IED Blast in Mamund Injures FC Personnel and Civilians; Search Operation Underway

At least nine individuals, including four personnel of the Frontier Corps (FC) and several civilians, were injured in an improvised explosive device (IED) blast in the Mohmand tehsil of Bajaur district.

The explosion occurred around 11:00 am near Usmania School on the main road in Laghari area, targeting a bomb disposal (BD) team of the 233 Wing, Laghari Scouts. According to the in-charge of Casualty Department at Larkhalozo Hospital, the injured FC personnel include Hazrat Ali, Zahid, Aleem, and Zarmoola.

Civilians injured in the blast were identified as Rohullah son of Shamsher Khan, Khwista Gul son of Akhtar Munir, Amna Bibi daughter of Azizullah, and Taj son of Syed Ahmad. All were shifted to Larkhalozo Hospital for immediate medical treatment.

Meanwhile, two injured children – Jawad son of Tahir and Talha son of Rohullah, residents of Larkalan Mamund – were brought to Khar Hospital for further care, according to hospital sources.

Following the incident, security forces cordoned off the area and launched a search operation. Medical teams remain engaged in providing care to the wounded, while investigations into the nature of the blast are currently underway.
