Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi participated as the Chief Guest at the National Message of Peace Ulema and Mashaikh Conference organized by the National Message of Peace Committee in Peshawar, emphasizing the importance of national unity, interfaith harmony, and collective efforts to strengthen peace and stability across the country.
Addressing the conference, Governor Kundi stated that the Prime Minister and Field Marshal are playing a significant role in safeguarding Pakistan’s sovereignty, security, and national interests. He expressed pride in the sacrifices and professionalism of Pakistan’s armed forces, stating that the country’s security institutions have always stood firm in defending the nation.
The Governor highlighted Pakistan’s response to regional security challenges and appreciated the role of national institutions in protecting the country’s dignity and security. He further stated that international leaders, including the President of the United States, have acknowledged the role of Pakistan’s leadership in promoting peace and stability.
Governor Kundi emphasized that while the state has the capability to eliminate terrorist networks and their hideouts, defeating extremist ideologies requires the active participation of religious scholars, mosques, and spiritual institutions.
He stressed that scholars have a crucial responsibility in guiding the younger generation, promoting the true teachings of Islam, and preventing the spread of hatred, intolerance, and sectarian divisions.
“Pakistan needs to promote peace, tolerance, and unity while eliminating terrorism, extremism, and sectarianism,” the Governor stated, adding that inter-sectarian harmony and interfaith tolerance are essential for the country’s future.
He also paid tribute to Pakistan’s minority communities for their patriotism and contributions toward national development, emphasizing that a strong nation believes in constructive differences aimed at improvement rather than conflict.
Governor Faisal Karim Kundi congratulated the leadership of the National Message of Peace Committee for organizing the successful conference and assured that the doors of Governor House would remain open for initiatives aimed at promoting peace and harmony.
He reiterated that the mission of establishing peace requires the united efforts of the entire nation. He called upon all segments of society to work together beyond political differences for the progress, prosperity, and stability of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Pakistan.
Speaking about regional challenges, Governor Kundi stated that Pakistan has always welcomed the people of Afghanistan and maintained brotherly relations; however, he emphasized that the use of Afghan territory for terrorism against Pakistan remains unacceptable.
He expressed concern over attempts to create instability in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, stating that such actions are aimed at preventing Pakistan from benefiting from the region’s vast resources and development potential.
The Governor highlighted that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is among Pakistan’s most resource-rich provinces and that sustainable peace is essential for unlocking its economic opportunities. He stated that once global peace and stability improve, Pakistan must be prepared to facilitate international investors and provide an environment conducive to economic growth.
Governor Kundi appreciated Pakistan’s diplomatic role during recent international crises and highlighted the efforts of national leadership in advancing peace initiatives. He noted that cooperation among national institutions has been instrumental in promoting stability and strengthening Pakistan’s position on regional and global platforms.
Concluding his address, Governor Faisal Karim Kundi reaffirmed that peace, development, and prosperity in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa can only be achieved through unity, tolerance, and collective responsibility.
He emphasized that Pakistan’s future depends on educating and guiding the younger generation, strengthening social harmony, and ensuring that all national stakeholders work together for a peaceful and prosperous country.
