Between 10 and 13 September, Pakistan’s security forces conducted major counterterrorism operations in Bajaur and South Waziristan, killing 35 Khawarij affiliated with Indian-sponsored terrorist groups. Twelve soldiers of the Pakistan Army embraced martyrdom during the engagements.

The first operation took place in Bajaur, where intelligence reports indicated the presence of militants in the area. Acting on this information, security forces launched an operation that resulted in the elimination of 22 militants after a fierce exchange of fire.

In a separate encounter in South Waziristan during the same period, security forces confronted another group of militants. Thirteen terrorists were killed in the operation. However, 12 personnel of the Pakistan Army laid down their lives in the line of duty, fighting with exceptional courage.

Weapons, ammunition, and other military-grade equipment were recovered from the militants, who were reportedly involved in several recent terror attacks in the region.

Intelligence reports have confirmed the physical involvement of Afghan nationals in the incidents. Officials have reiterated Pakistan’s demand that the Interim Afghan Government prevent the use of its territory by groups targeting Pakistan.

Sanitization and clearance operations are still underway to ensure that no remaining militants are present in the area. The armed forces have reaffirmed their resolve to eliminate all threats of terrorism, stating that the sacrifices of the martyrs will further strengthen the nation’s determination to ensure peace and security.
