Security forces eliminated four terrorists belonging to Fitna al-Hindustan, the state-designated term for the banned Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), during an intelligence-based operation in Balochistan’s Kharan district, according to preliminary security sources.

The operation was launched after security forces received credible intelligence regarding the presence of terrorists in the area. Acting swiftly on the information, troops moved to the suspected location, where they came under fire, triggering an intense exchange of gunfire with the terrorists.

During the ensuing firefight, security forces effectively engaged the terrorists, eliminating all four on the spot. According to security sources, the neutralized terrorists were affiliated with the banned BLA, which officials describe as a proxy terrorist outfit backed by India and operating under a foreign-sponsored agenda.

Sources said the successful operation thwarted a major terrorist plot that could have targeted security forces or civilians in the region.

Following the clearance of the area, security personnel recovered a cache of modern weapons, ammunition, explosives and communication equipment from the terrorists’ hideout. The recovered material is expected to assist investigators in tracing the group’s operational network and planned activities.

A search and clearance operation remains underway to ensure that no additional terrorists are present in the area and to eliminate any remaining threats.

Security forces have continued intelligence-based operations across Balochistan as part of ongoing efforts to dismantle terrorist networks and prevent attacks against the state and the public.
