Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir Conferred Saudi Arabia’s Highest National Honour During Official Visit

Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), HJ, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) and Chief of Defence Forces (CDF), called on His Royal Highness Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Minister of Defence of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, during his official visit to the Kingdom.

The high-level meeting reflected the longstanding, historic, and brotherly relationship between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. Both dignitaries held wide-ranging discussions on matters of mutual interest, including evolving regional and global security dynamics, defence and military cooperation, strategic collaboration, and emerging geopolitical challenges. In a significant recognition of his distinguished service, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir was conferred the King Abdulaziz Medal of Excellent Class, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s highest national honour. The award was bestowed under a Royal Decree issued by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

The conferment of this prestigious decoration acknowledges Field Marshal Asim Munir’s exemplary military leadership, professionalism, and strategic foresight. It also recognizes his pivotal role in strengthening defence cooperation, enhancing strategic coordination, and deepening institutional linkages between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
