Field Marshal Asim Munir Attends Naval Academy Commissioning Parade

Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir attended the commissioning parade of the 123rd Midshipmen and 31st Short Service Commission (SSC) Course at Pakistan Naval Academy, PNS Rahbar, as the chief guest underscoring the enduring spirit of inter-services solidarity and commitment to national defence. On arrival at the Naval Academy, the COAS was presented with a ceremonial guard of honour by a contingent of the Pakistan Navy. He reviewed the immaculate parade and witnessed the commissioning of a new generation of naval officers, trained to uphold the nation’s maritime security in an increasingly complex strategic environment.

In his remarks, Field Marshal Asim Munir congratulated the cadets on the successful completion of their rigorous training and urged them to embrace their responsibilities with professionalism, honour, and absolute dedication to the motherland. “You are now the sentinels of Pakistan’s maritime frontiers. Serve with integrity, lead with courage, and never waver in your commitment to the nation,” he stated.

The parade was attended by senior officers from the armed forces, government officials, foreign diplomats, and family members of the graduating cadets. The ceremony not only celebrated individual excellence but also reflected the Pakistan Navy’s role as a modern and dynamic force committed to safeguarding national maritime interests and promoting regional stability.

The highlight of the event was the award of the prestigious Sword of Honour to Cadet Abdul Rehman for his exceptional all-round performance during training. Field Marshal Munir also distributed medals and prizes among other outstanding cadets from both the Midshipmen and SSC courses.

During the oath-taking ceremony, the newly commissioned officers pledged to uphold the Constitution of Pakistan and to defend the country against all threats, in peace and war, with unflinching resolve.

The presence of the Chief of Army Staff at the Pakistan Naval Academy was seen as a powerful symbol of unity and operational synergy between the armed forces—reaffirming their shared resolve to protect Pakistan’s sovereignty across land, sea, and air.
