A Frontier Corps (FC) soldier belonging to the 182 Wing of the security forces was martyred in a sniper attack while on duty at a checkpost in the Mohmand district. The martyred soldier, Liaqat Ali Shalmani, hailed from the Loye Shalman Samsai area of Landi Kotal tehsil in Khyber district. According to the sources, he was targeted by enemy fire while serving on the frontlines in Mohmand, where security forces continue to battle the persistent threat of militancy in the tribal belt.
The mortal remains of Liaqat Ali Shalmani will be brought to his native village today. His funeral will be held with full military honours, and he will be laid to rest at the local graveyard in Loye Shalman Samsai.
Residents, elders, and officials are expected to attend the funeral to pay their respects to the fallen soldier. His sacrifice is being remembered as a testament to the unwavering commitment of the security forces in defending the country’s frontiers against terrorist threats.
Security officials have condemned the attack and vowed to bring the perpetrators to justice, reiterating that such cowardly acts will not weaken the resolve of the armed forces.
