The terrorists, affiliated with the banned TTP, or Fitna al-Khawarij, destroyed another key link bridge on the Bannu–Miranshah Road near Masoomabad after planting explosives beneath the structure, causing a loud blast that shook the area. Thankfully, no loss of life was reported.
The bridge is used daily by both security personnel and local residents, making it an essential route for movement in the region. Continuous attacks of this nature have created fear, frustration, and deep concern among the people who rely on such vital links for their everyday activities.
Security forces and police reached the site immediately after the explosion, cordoned off the area and began collecting evidence. The Bomb Disposal Squad also arrived to inspect the explosive material used in the attack. Police have opened a formal investigation.
Residents say this act once again exposes the hypocrisy of these groups, who claim to represent the people yet repeatedly target the very infrastructure that civilians depend on. They added that such actions clearly show that these elements have no regard for public safety, livelihoods or stability in the district.
Locals have urged authorities to further strengthen security measures and ensure the protection of key routes to prevent such destructive incidents in the future.
