Decisive NSC Stance on Indian Provocations Following Pahalgam False Flag

Pakistan’s National Security Committee (NSC) convened an emergency session on 24 April 2025 to review the evolving national security environment following recent developments linked to the Pahalgam incident and subsequent actions taken by India.

The high-level meeting, attended by senior civil and military leadership, conducted a comprehensive assessment of the regional situation and strongly criticized India’s measures announced on 23 April 2025. The committee described these actions as unilateral, unjustified, and lacking legal basis.

The NSC categorically rejected attempts to associate Pakistan with the Pahalgam incident without credible investigation or verifiable evidence, terming such allegations as baseless, illogical, and contrary to facts. It reiterated Pakistan’s consistent and unequivocal condemnation of terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.

Reaffirming its long-standing position, the committee expressed unwavering support for the right to self-determination of the people of Jammu and Kashmir, in accordance with relevant United Nations resolutions. It noted that the situation in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir reflects the consequences of prolonged human rights concerns and governance challenges.

The committee emphasized that India must take responsibility for ensuring the security of its own citizens, rather than resorting to allegations against others. It also criticized what it described as a recurring pattern of attributing incidents to Pakistan for political purposes, warning against the use of such narratives to escalate tensions in the region.

Addressing regional stability, the NSC expressed concern over what it termed inflammatory rhetoric and irresponsible media narratives emanating from India, stating that such actions risk further aggravating an already sensitive environment.

The committee also firmly rejected any attempts to undermine Pakistan’s water rights, emphasizing that water remains a vital national interest. It warned that any effort to obstruct or divert Pakistan’s share of water would be treated with utmost seriousness and responded to across the full spectrum of national power.

Reiterating Pakistan’s commitment to peace, the NSC stated that while the country seeks stability and constructive engagement, it remains fully prepared to defend its sovereignty, territorial integrity, and national interests against any form of aggression.

The committee concluded by affirming that Pakistan’s armed forces and institutions possess the capability and readiness to respond effectively to any challenge, and that the nation remains resolute in safeguarding its security, dignity, and fundamental rights.
