CTD Cripples Terror Cell in Sibi; 5 Militants Killed, Arms Cache Seized

In a significant blow to terrorist networks operating in Balochistan, the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) successfully neutralized five militants during an intelligence-based operation in the Sibi district. The encounter, which involved a fierce exchange of gunfire, took place late Tuesday night and concluded with the recovery of a large quantity of arms, ammunition, and explosives.

According to a CTD spokesperson, the operation was launched following credible intelligence regarding the presence of armed militants planning sabotage activities in the area. Upon interception, the suspects opened fire, prompting a swift and calibrated response from the CTD. All five terrorists were killed on the spot.

A search and clearance operation is now underway in the vicinity to locate and apprehend any facilitators or members of the support network connected to the group. Security analysts have noted a recent uptick in coordinated efforts by militant groups in parts of Balochistan, often exploiting remote terrain to evade detection. However, authorities believe that sustained operations like this one are steadily weakening their capacity to operate.

This latest success adds to a series of counterterrorism victories in recent months, reflecting the growing effectiveness of CTD’s intelligence capabilities and field coordination.Public cooperation, the CTD reiterated, remains critical. Citizens are encouraged to report any suspicious activities to law enforcement authorities via established helplines.

As Pakistan continues to combat domestic militancy, security forces say the message is clear: there will be zero tolerance for terrorism in any form.
