Security forces continued clearance operations in the Tor Chappar area of Darra Adam Khel in Kohat on Saturday, a day after an intelligence-based operation against militants linked to the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).
According to sources, security forces had launched the operation after receiving reports about the presence of militants belonging to Fitna al-Khawarij’s Tariq Geedar group in the area.
During the operation conducted a day earlier, six militants were killed in an exchange of fire. The deceased were identified as Daud, Hamza, Zeenatullah and an Afghan national identified as Lawangeen, while the identities of two others were yet to be confirmed.
Sources said security forces were continuing clearance activities in the area to ensure the complete elimination of any remaining terrorists presence.
