In a high-stakes joint search-and-strike operation, Bannu Police, Counter Terrorism Department (CTD), and Pakistan Armed forces raided suspected hideouts in the Domel region of Bannu, arresting dozens and seizing a large cache of illegal weapons.
The operation was launched after intelligence sources tipped off authorities about the presence of suspicious individuals in Barganto and Kam Chashmi villages. Acting swiftly, a massive force including CTD personnel, Quick Response Force (QRF), female police officers, bomb disposal experts, and military units moved in for a coordinated crackdown.
Senior officials, including Brigadier Naveed Ahmed, SP CTD Fazal Wahid, SP Investigation Sajid Mumtaz, and SP Rural Mehmood Nawaz, personally oversaw the multi-agency operation.
Advanced surveillance technology, including drone cameras, was deployed to monitor and search the targeted locations—believed to be hideouts for drug traffickers, wanted criminals, and terrorist operatives.
Around 40 suspects were detained and moved to an undisclosed location for interrogation, police confirmed. A significant quantity of illegal firearms and ammunition was also recovered.
Authorities termed the operation a success and reiterated their commitment to eliminating terror elements from the region. Further investigations are underway.
