Bajaur Strike: 17 Militants Killed as KP CM Unveils Major Peace Push and Rs. 10 Million Relief for Martyrs’ Families

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, responding to the deadly Bajaur incident, announced sweeping measures to restore public trust and reinforce support for security forces.

“We consider our martyred security personnel as our own children — equally cherished as our civilians. Their sacrifices will not go in vain,” stated the CM.

He announced Rs. 10 million compensations for each martyred civilian and soldier, and Rs. 2.5 million for those injured.

Meanwhile, in a decisive blow to militancy, 17 terrorists — including a key commander — were killed, 24 injured, and 4 arrested in recent security operations.

To stabilize the region, the government has launched a local jirga schedule, culminating in a grand tribal jirga in the coming days aimed at reshaping the province’s peace strategy.

Chief Minister Gandapur stressed that true victory against terrorism can only be achieved when security forces and the people stand united, sharing trust, purpose, and protection. He highlighted that public confidence is the backbone of any successful counter-terror campaign, urging for meaningful operations that not only target militants but also ensure the safety and dignity of civilians. “We don’t just want operations — we want operations that restore peace, strengthen community bonds, and make every local feel secure in their own homeland,” he stated, adding that harmony between the state and its citizens is the most powerful weapon against extremism.
