On the occasion of the 28th anniversary of Youm-e-Takbeer, the senior leadership of Pakistan’s armed forces extended heartfelt congratulations to the nation, marking the historic milestone that transformed the country into a declared nuclear power, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
The Chief of Army Staff, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, along with the Chief of Air Staff and Chief of Naval Staff, conveyed their felicitations to the people of Pakistan, paying tribute to what they described as a defining moment in the country’s strategic and national history.
According to ISPR, Youm-e-Takbeer commemorates the day when Pakistan emerged as a nuclear power, restoring strategic balance in South Asia and reinforcing its sovereign deterrence capability. The statement emphasized that this landmark achievement stands as a symbol of national unity, resilience, and the unwavering commitment to safeguarding national sovereignty.
The military leadership highlighted that the day serves as a reminder of Pakistan’s enduring resolve to protect its territorial integrity and national dignity under all circumstances. It noted that the achievement was made possible through visionary leadership, the exceptional contributions of scientists and engineers, and the collective determination of the nation.
ISPR further stated that Youm-e-Takbeer reflects the culmination of sacrifices and sustained efforts by the armed forces and the people of Pakistan, underscoring a shared national commitment to defence preparedness and strategic stability.
The statement reiterated that Pakistan’s nuclear capability remains a cornerstone of its deterrence posture and a guarantee of peace and stability in the region.
