The suicide bomber responsible for the September 30 attack on the Frontier Corps (FC) Headquarters North in Quetta has been identified as an Afghan national, once again exposing the undeniable role of Afghan soil in orchestrating terrorism inside Pakistan.
The attacker, identified as Mohammad Sohail alias Khabbab, belonged to the terrorist faction Fitna al-Khawarij and was a resident of Maidan district in Afghanistan’s Wardak province. The brutal assault on the FC Headquarters North claimed the lives of eight civilians and left forty others injured, marking yet another tragic episode of cross-border terrorism.
The Quetta attack stands as a stark reminder of the continuing threat posed by Fitna al-Khawarij operatives based in Afghanistan. The persistent failure of the Afghan Taliban regime to prevent such acts of terrorism, and its apparent tolerance of militant sanctuaries, has become a grave concern for regional peace and security.
