India Responsible for Escalation, Entire Region on Brink of War: Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi

Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Thursday held his second meeting in 48 hours with the United States Chargé d’Affaires, Natalie Baker, during which the two sides discussed rising tensions between Pakistan and India, as well as the overall security situation along the borders.

According to Dawn News, the federal minister briefed the U.S. diplomat on the latest developments, including India’s increasing use of drones for cross-border aggression. He accused India of violating international laws and targeting civilian populations in Pakistan, calling these actions a grave provocation.

“India bears full responsibility for the dangerous escalation in the region,” Naqvi told the U.S. delegation. “The entire region now stands at the brink of war.” He further stated that Pakistan’s security forces had responded effectively and shot down dozens of Indian drones that violated Pakistani airspace.

The interior minister emphasized that Pakistan will not tolerate any threat to its sovereignty and will defend its territorial integrity at all costs.

It is noteworthy that this was the second meeting between Minister Naqvi and the U.S. envoy within two days. In their earlier meeting, they had exchanged views on the post-strike situation following an alleged Indian attack.

According to a post by the state broadcaster on social media platform X, U.S. Political Counselor Zachary Harkenrider and Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry were also present during the discussions.
