Pakistan’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Dr. Mohammad Faisal, has warned that the countdown has begun to respond to Indian aggression, stating that while peace remains Pakistan’s foremost priority, a strong and proportionate response to any hostile action from India is inevitable.
In an interview with Sky News, Dr. Faisal reiterated that Pakistan has repeatedly offered full cooperation for an international investigation into the Pulwama incident, underscoring Islamabad’s commitment to regional peace. However, he stressed that recent developments have left no doubt that Pakistan will retaliate decisively if Indian attacks continue.
“The countdown has begun to respond to India’s attacks,” Dr. Faisal stated. “Despite calls from the UN Security Council and various international actors urging India to de-escalate tensions, New Delhi chose to ignore global appeals and launched attacks.”
Highlighting the gravity of the situation, the High Commissioner said, “Missiles are being fired at our territory and innocent civilians are being targeted. Under such circumstances, how can cooperation with India continue? Why is India so afraid of an international investigation into the Pulwama incident?”
Dr. Faisal reiterated Pakistan’s principled stance for peace and dialogue, but affirmed that the country retains every right to defend its sovereignty and citizens against unprovoked aggression.
