Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar on Wednesday briefed foreign envoys in Islamabad on what he called India’s “blatant and unprovoked aggression” against Pakistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir during the night of May 6–7.
Condemning the strikes in the strongest possible terms, Dar stated that the Indian attacks not only violated Pakistan’s sovereignty but also posed a direct threat to regional peace and stability.
“These actions by India are a clear breach of the UN Charter, international law, and the established principles of inter-state relations,” he said during the diplomatic briefing.
The deputy prime minister rejected India’s claims linking Pakistan to the recent Pahalgam incident, noting that no credible evidence had been presented to substantiate such allegations.
Dar reiterated Pakistan’s measured response and commitment to restraint, adding, “Despite repeated provocations, Pakistan has consistently demonstrated maturity and responsibility in the interest of regional stability.”
He emphasized that the international community must take serious note of India’s escalating conduct, which risks further destabilizing South Asia.
