Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Asim Iftikhar, has warned that India is engaged in dangerous and politically motivated provocations, driven by an irresponsible agenda that threatens regional peace and stability.
Briefing ambassadors of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) group in New York on the deteriorating situation in South Asia, Asim Iftikhar said India’s conduct has become increasingly aggressive and inflammatory, aimed at destabilizing the region for narrow political gains.
According to the Pakistan Mission to the UN, OIC member states expressed full solidarity with Pakistan and reaffirmed their unwavering support for the just cause of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
Ambassador Iftikhar underscored that India’s repeated violations of international norms, coupled with its refusal to engage in meaningful dialogue, are a grave concern for the global community. He stressed that such actions are not only a violation of human rights but also undermine international peace efforts.
The OIC ambassadors emphasized the urgent need to reduce tensions through diplomatic means and called for a just and lasting resolution of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute in accordance with relevant UN Security Council and OIC resolutions
