A dignified passing out parade of officers and soldiers of the Special Services Group (SSG) was held at the Special Operations School (SOS), Cherat, marking the successful completion of the Officers’ Advanced Commando Course 83 and the Soldiers’ Commando Course 102.
A total of 15 officers passed out from the Advanced Commando Course, including two from the Pakistan Navy, while 121 soldiers completed the Soldiers’ Commando Course, with three belonging to the Pakistan Air Force and 25 from the Pakistan Navy.
General Officer Commanding SSG, Major General Jawad Ahmed, was the chief guest at the ceremony. He awarded medals and prizes to officers and soldiers who demonstrated outstanding performance during the rigorous training. He also pinned the coveted SSG wings on the graduating commandos.
Lieutenant Mudassir Hayat of the Officers’ Advanced Commando Course and Sepoy Muhammad Sami of the Soldiers’ Commando Course were awarded the honorary dagger for their exceptional performance. In the 50-mile long run, Lieutenant Ibadullah of the Pakistan Navy secured first position.
The participation of officers and soldiers from the Pakistan Air Force and Pakistan Navy in the specialized training at SOS Cherat reflects the deep trust and professionalism associated with the SSG.
Parents and families of the graduating commandos attended the ceremony, which also featured impressive demonstrations by SSG Zarrar troops, including rolling fire drills, judo, and mixed martial arts displays.
