In the wake of the cowardly terrorist attack at Moosa Zai Adda in the jurisdiction of Chaudhwan Police Station, which claimed the life of Head Constable Javed Alam, joint teams of the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) and District Police launched a search and strike operation targeting suspected terrorist hideouts in Daraban and Kot Isa Khan areas of Dera Ismail Khan.
During the targeted raids, intense exchange of fire took place between security personnel and terrorists hiding in the area. The terrorists eventually managed to flee, taking advantage of the nearby forest cover. The operation focused on known hideouts and residences of associates of the proscribed Mishal Group, including Qari Sohail, Haibat, Kashif, Waseem alias Hamza, Qismatullah, and Inam.
In the course of the operation, four facilitators—Rahimullah, Inamullah, Safeer, and Marwat—were apprehended. The CTD and district police teams carried out the raids with precision and coordination to disrupt the terrorist network operating in the region.
Inspector General of Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Zulfiqar Hameed, commended the CTD and Dera Police personnel for their outstanding performance. He announced rewards for the officials involved in the successful operation and stated that police forces are being equipped with modern weapons and technological gadgets to enhance their operational capacity.
Reaffirming the resolve to intensify the crackdown on terrorists, the IGP said operations will be further streamlined and strengthened, with continuous upgrades in weapons and tactical equipment for frontline police units.
