Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Shangla Police successfully foiled a major terrorist attack on the Shakolai Police Post, located under Chowga Police Station, during the late hours of Friday night.
According to officials, armed militants launched a coordinated assault around midnight, deploying both light and heavy weapons in an attempt to overrun the outpost. The police responded with full force, leading to a prolonged and intense exchange of fire.
The swift and decisive action by Shangla Police compelled the terrorists to flee, leaving behind clear signs of their retreat discovered during a subsequent search operation in the area.
A police spokesperson said the force stood as a “wall of steel” against the attackers and reaffirmed Shangla Police’s full preparedness to tackle any form of terrorist aggression.
Inspector General of Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Zulfiqar Hameed, lauded the bravery of the officers involved and announced cash rewards and commendation certificates for the personnel who repulsed the assault with exceptional courage and professionalism.
