Inspector General Frontier Corps (IGFC), Major General Rao Imran Sartaj, has called upon all segments of society to play their due role in safeguarding peace and stability, stressing that lasting peace cannot be achieved through the efforts of security forces alone but requires collective national commitment and unwavering public support.
Addressing a grand jirga of political and social elders from across Malakand Division in Swat, the IGFC emphasised that improving the security and stability situation in Dir and Bajaur is of critical importance for establishing sustainable peace throughout Malakand Division.
He underscored that peace and stability in these strategically important areas would have a positive impact on the overall security environment of the entire region, strengthening public confidence and creating favourable conditions for development and prosperity.
Major General Rao Imran Sartaj stressed that all segments of society must play an effective and responsible role in countering anti-peace elements and those facilitating terrorist activities. He made it clear that individuals involved in anti-state activities and attempts to undermine peace must find no acceptance or space within society.
The IGFC further highlighted that maintaining peace is not the sole responsibility of security forces; rather, it is a shared national responsibility that demands unity, public cooperation, social awareness, and collective determination.
He emphasised that sustainable peace is the foundation of progress, economic development, and prosperity, while lasting development remains impossible in an environment of insecurity and instability.
The IGFC called for a united front against all elements seeking to disrupt peace, stressing the importance of strengthening cooperation between security forces, political leadership, tribal elders, and civil society.
The grand jirga reflected the importance of collective engagement, public cooperation, and a unified approach towards defeating forces of instability and ensuring a peaceful and secure future for the people of Malakand Division.
Peace is the foundation of progress, unity is the strength of society, and the protection of lasting peace is a collective responsibility of every citizen.
