A Police Officer’s Home Was Targeted, Three Explosives Dropped From the Sky

Police Officer, Lakki Marwat, Quadcopter Attack

Terrorists affiliated with the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) launched a quadcopter attack on the residence of an Elite Force police officer in Lakki Marwat, dropping three explosive devices in the assault. No casualties were reported.

The attack took place in Abdul Khel, within the jurisdiction of Shahbaz Khel Police Station, where the terrorists targeted the house of Elite Force personnel Saboor Khan using a weaponized quadcopter.

According to initial information, the drone dropped three explosive devices during the attack. Two landed inside the police officer’s house, while the third fell on a neighboring residence. Fortunately, no one was injured.

The incident comes a day after a civilian, Muhammad Shahid, was injured in a similar quadcopter attack in Machi Khel, Mir Ali tehsil, North Waziristan. He was shifted to Khalifa Gul Nawaz Hospital in Bannu for treatment.

The latest attack adds to a growing pattern of weaponized drone assaults across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, with terrorists increasingly using remotely operated aerial devices to target police personnel, security installations and civilian areas.

Previous attacks in Barwand and Zarmalan in South Waziristan injured two civilians, including a woman and a child. In Bannu, a quadcopter attack on an IDP camp injured three police personnel, while security forces have also conducted operations against terrorists linked to such attacks in Lakki Marwat.

The repeated use of explosive-laden quadcopters highlights an evolving security threat, particularly in areas where terrorists are attempting to target police personnel and civilians beyond conventional ground attacks.
