Armed groups opposing Afghanistan’s Taliban government have claimed a fresh wave of attacks across the country, announcing 19 operations in 12 provinces between October 25 and 30 that they said killed 22 Taliban personnel and wounded 16 others.
The casualty figures and operational details were announced by the resistance groups themselves and could not be independently verified. Their statements described attacks on Taliban checkpoints, vehicles and intelligence personnel in several parts of Afghanistan, suggesting continued efforts by armed opposition groups to challenge the Taliban’s security presence.
Afghan United Front Claims Multiple Attacks
The Afghan United Front (AUF) claimed six attacks on October 25 in Ghor, Zabul, Ghazni, Kandahar and Badakhshan provinces. The group said eight Taliban personnel were killed and seven wounded in the operations.
It also claimed an attack on a Taliban checkpoint in Parwan on October 26 that killed one personnel and wounded two others.
The group further claimed responsibility for killing Taliban member Mullah Samar Gul in Kapisa’s Tagab district and an intelligence officer in Zabul on October 28.
For October 29 and 30, the AUF claimed three additional attacks in Kandahar’s Spin Boldak and Arghistan districts and in Gardez, the capital of Paktia province. It said the attacks killed three Taliban personnel and destroyed a Ranger vehicle.
Afghan Freedom Front and National Independence Front Announce Operations
The Afghan Freedom Front (AFF) said it attacked a Taliban vehicle in Kabul on October 25, killing two personnel and wounding another.
The group also claimed an attack on a checkpoint in Kunar on October 27, saying one Taliban personnel was killed and three wounded.
The National Independence Front (NIF) claimed that two attacks in Kabul on October 28 and 29 killed three Taliban personnel.
It also announced an attack on a Taliban Ranger vehicle in Samangan on October 30, claiming one personnel was killed and three others were critically wounded.
Other Groups Report Attacks and Intelligence Gains
The Afghanistan Republican Front (ARF) claimed it killed a Taliban intelligence officer in Ghazni on October 26.
Meanwhile, the Afghan Green Trend claimed to have obtained Taliban intelligence documents concerning Laghman province. According to the group, the documents indicated that around 400 people in the province had taken up arms against the Taliban government. The claim and the alleged contents of the documents could not be independently verified.
The group also claimed it set fire to a Taliban logistics vehicle in Kahmard district of Bamyan province on October 28.
The announcements point to continued armed opposition activity across multiple Afghan provinces. However, the groups’ claims alone do not establish the full scale of the attacks or their overall impact on Taliban security operations.
